TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. TRAINING SERVICES
1.1 Sarah Meakes of The Woof Works will provide safe, responsible, positive reward-based dog training instruction.
1.2 Training success depends on consistent practice by the owner. No guarantee is made regarding your dog's performance or the duration of training results.
1.3 Recommendations of products or services do not constitute guarantees of satisfaction.
2. INSURANCE AND LIABILITY
2.1 Sarah Meakes maintains professional liability insurance. Liability for unintentional or negligent errors or omissions is limited to the amount recoverable under such insurance coverage.
2.2 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
3. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 You acknowledge the inherent risks of owning and training a dog, including the risk of dog bites to yourself, other participants, or third parties.
3.2 You remain responsible for your dog's actions at all times, both during and outside of class.
3.3 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sarah Meakes from any claims, expenses, costs, or damages arising from your dog's actions, your own actions or omissions, or claims by your family members, guests, or third parties.
4. HEALTH AND SAFETY
4.1 You must not bring a dog that is unwell (including coughing, diarrhea, vomiting, or contagious conditions) or any bitch in season or suspected to be coming into season. If your dog is unwell, injured, or in season, attend without your dog.
4.2 You confirm your dog is up to date with vaccinations or accept full responsibility for any health risks.
4.3 Information provided by Sarah Meakes does not pertain to your dog's physical health. Consult a veterinary professional for health concerns.
5. TRAINING GROUND RULES
5.1 Dogs must remain on lead at ALL times unless specifically instructed otherwise by Sarah Meakes.
5.2 Maintain at least 5 meters distance between your dog and other participants unless instructed otherwise.
5.3 Children must be supervised by an adult other than the dog handler.
5.4 Your dog must settle quietly in your car for short periods. Bring appropriate chews, toys, and bedding.
6. TRAINING METHODS AND CONDUCT
6.1 Only positive reward-based training is permitted. Aversive methods (shouting, lead jerking, hitting, or any punitive techniques) are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal from class with forfeiture of fees.
6.2 Sarah Meakes reserves the right to exclude any participant whose behavior or dog's behavior is unsafe or disruptive.
7. CANCELLATIONS AND TRANSFERS
7.1 The Woof Works maintains small classes for quality training. Once a course starts, cancelled spaces cannot be filled.
Client Cancellations:
More than 14 days before start: Full refund
Within 14 days of start: No refund unless your place is filled from the waiting list (refund less £25 admin fee if filled)
After course start: No refund
Transfers:
Within 14 days of start or after start: Only permitted if your place is filled from the waiting list (refund less £25 admin fee if filled, which can be applied to a future course)
Cancellations by The Woof Works:
Classes cancelled due to weather, illness, or other circumstances will be provided as online recordings.
Gundog Fundamentals - Mandatory First Class:
The first class covers essential safety information, guidelines, and key training foundations.
Attendance is mandatory for all handlers. Missing the first class results in exclusion from the course with no refund or transfer.
8. DATA PROTECTION
8.1 Your personal information will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 for providing training services and maintaining records.
8.2 Your information will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or with your consent.
8.3 You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. Training records may be retained for up to 7 years for insurance purposes.
9. PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO
9.1 Sarah Meakes may take photographs or videos during training for promotional, educational, or social media purposes.
9.2 By signing these terms, you consent to your and your dog's image being used in promotional materials unless you opt out on your registration form.
9.3 You may withdraw consent at any time, though previously published images may remain in circulation.
10. GENERAL
10.1 These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and The Woof Works.
10.2 Sarah Meakes may update these terms with reasonable notice.
10.3 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
